The TRYIT feature is a simple GUI-based way to send a curl request. In instances where the API uses a Client Credentials authorization grant type, the TRYIT feature is helpful. However, it is important to note that the TRYIT feature only sends the application's consumer keys and access token in the request; it does not send the user's log-in credentials, even if you are currently logged in to WSO2 using CAS. Depending on how the particular API is structured, there is no guarantee that the TRYIT feature will return any data.
This tutorial will walk you through the steps of using the TRYIT feature in WSO2.
- Navigate to the main page of the API you wish to try. On this page navigate to the API Console tab.
- You will see the API Console. At the top of the API Console, you will be required to select (1) the application that you want to try and (2) the key (either Production or Sandbox) that you want to use. Once you have selected both an application and a key, the "Set Request Header" box will automatically update with your Access Token if you have generated keys for the corresponding Production/Sandbox Application.
- Within the API Console, you will see a list of HTTP methods. If you would like to perform a specific request, select the HTTP method that you would like to try.
- If the HTTP method in question has parameters that it requires to run, you will fill them out on this page. Once you are ready, click the "Try it out!" button. Responses will be shown with standard HTML Status Codes.
